Yazzie Christmas Eve

I guess in the Yazzie family, we have a tradition. Most years we have gathered as a family and celebrated Christmas Eve with Mexican food, cousins and acted out the Nativity with felt puppets. The first year was innocent and cute. But as the cousins have gotten older, the innocence has faded and the smaller kids have been influenced by the older ones. I have included the video for your viewing pleasure. (Please forgive the amateur video/acting)

Actors (stage names only): Annie: part-time narrator, angel, star / Krispy: Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus / J & Hunt: Wiseguys (literally) / Elwood: Joseph(for real, we mixed up the shepherd and Joseph, OOPS!) / Shakey J: Shepherd / No Shoes: camera and commentary / Big Z and Vino and Navajo Brand: peanut gallery / Cutie Babe: just crowd appeal.

The ENTIRE Yazzie clan was gathered at our house. I am so pleased that we could have gathered together. maybe we should have gotten a family group shot. Hind sight is 20/20 I hear. Here are some pictures.

All the cousins minus Biz Z and Navajo Brand

Congratulations! You have now joined the ranks of exasperated mothers who try to build lovely, spiritual memories for their children who range in levels from sweet and cooperative to jaded and impertinent, as well as assorted relatives who add their own doses of curmudgeon-ness. Luckily some good memories do manage to survive the fol-de-ral.
